VECTIM: The next generation of smart, electrified ground mobility

The VECTIM project — Electrified Ground Platform for Smart Mobility with Advanced Communication and Monitoring Systems — began in January, an initiative aimed at advancing the development of efficient and connected military ground platforms.

The project's mission is to drive national technological leadership in the development of intelligent military vehicles capable of meeting new operational challenges. The project aims to research and develop an innovative, electrified, and connected ground vehicle platform that will strengthen national technological autonomy in the strategic field of defence.

The project is led by UROVESA, has a budget of over seven million euros, and will run for four years.

A complementary consortium for a shared challenge

The consortium is made up of four companies that will contribute their complementary capabilities in a coordinated way throughout the project to ensure the success of the research: Urovesa, Piedrafita, GSERTEL, and D3 Applied Tech. The consortium combines Urovesa's industrial leadership and integration capacity with Piedrafita's experience in advanced vehicle mobility systems, GSERTEL's expertise in secure communications development, and D3 Applied Tech's solutions for cooperative operation.

In addition, four research organisations are collaborating: CTAG, GRADIANT, UPM, and INTA. The combination of industrial and scientific capabilities makes it possible to confidently tackle this highly complex technological challenge.

VECTIM has been approved within the framework of the Science and Innovation Missions Programme (PEICTI 2024–2027), is subsidised by CDTI, and has the support of the Ministerio de Ciencia, Innovación y Universidades (MICIU).
